Item Digits

The Item Digit definition table allows a coding scheme utilizing every digit of your item code to be established. The item digits function controls the allowable characters that can be used in the first digit (which represents the broadest item category and defines the overall behavior of an item as either product, carton, or other) and in digits four through eight (the unique item characteristics). The first three digits taken together make up the item group and are the primary way to access your items.
